DRIVERS EDUCATION – SUMMER 2026
Dear Parents/Guardians,
Gackle-Streeter Public School will be offering Drivers Education during Summer 2026. The course will be taught by Mr. Logan Klitzke and will include both the required classroom instruction and behind-the-wheel training.
Please review the following information carefully. The registration/signature form is included at the bottom of this letter and must be returned in order to reserve your student’s spot in the class.
To enroll in Drivers Education, students must:
Be 14 years of age on or before June 30, 2026
Obtain an instruction permit for participation in the driving portion of the course
If your student does not yet have a permit, please contact Mr. Klitzke for guidance
The classroom portion of Drivers Education consists of 30 hours of required instruction and will be held on the following dates:
May 18, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 6.5 hours
May 19, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 6.5 hours
May 20, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 6.5 hours
May 21, 2026 8:30 a.m. –3:30 p.m. 6.5 hours
May 22, 2026 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. 4 hours
Students enrolled in Drivers Education must also complete the required behind-the-wheel training. Each student is required to complete:
6 hours of driving
6 hours of observation
Total = 12 in-vehicle instructional hours.
Additional driving information:
Students will generally be assigned in groups of two
Driving sessions will be scheduled during the months of June and July
The driving schedule will be provided after the classroom portion has been completed
Students must possess a valid instruction permit in order to legally participate in driving practice
During behind-the-wheel instruction, students will receive practical experience in:
Safe vehicle operation
Defensive driving habits
Proper driving procedures
Application of classroom concepts in real driving situations
Additional Information
Please note the following:
· Students may bring a lunch each day
· A lunch break will be provided from 12:00 p.m. to 12:30 p.m.
· The cost of the course is $135.00
· Registration and payment are due by Thursday, May 1, 2026
