March 6, 2023 Families of the Gackle-Streeter School District. RE: 2023 Gackle-Streeter Administrative Procedure regarding difficult winter travel due to snow. Due to the relentless snow events brought on by Mother Nature, many roads in the Gackle-Streeter School District have become difficult to keep open. Looking at the forecast for the rest of this week and the expended forecast for the month of March, we may have a long couple weeks ahead. In an effort to keep a regular schedule to our school day and school calendar, buses will run where possible when visibility is safe for travel. If your family lives on an extended driveway or on a secondary road that often becomes blocked, please prepare your child to walk a short distance through the snow to met the bus. When possible, clear yards and lane roads to accommodate the bus. Families may find it necessary to make use of storm/winter homes in some cases. If students miss school due to blocked roads, he/she will be responsible to make up missed class work. One day per missed day will be granted to turn in missed assignments. I personally would like to thank everyone for the patience, grace and understanding that has been extended regarding late starts and calling off school. Please know that the safety of students and staff are always my first priority. Your support is greatly appreciated. Hang in there….. Spring is coming!! Thank you Mark Berg, Superintendent, AD Gackle-Streeter Public School 300 2nd Ave E. Gackle, ND 58442 (701) 485-3692. Mark.berg@k12.nd.us “Empowering All Students to Succeed”
